Maharishi Fall/Winter 2011 Lookbook

Here is a sneak peak at the Maharishi Fall/Winter 2011 collection which was spotted a few days ago at High Snobiety. We have always been fans of the Maharishi way here at Wood – adding a few choice pieces to our core MHI collection most seasons. This year will be no different and maybe even feature a few more styles than usual from the Maharishi mainline collection.

“Maharishi presents a modern special forces inspired collection for Fall/Winter 2011, entitled ‘Into the Light: Survival 2012′. High tech webbing and other interesting production methods have been applied, as well as Swiss Riri zippers and overall a range of high tech Swiss materials, including the densely woven naturally waterproof organic cotton ETA, Schoeller cloth with anti-abrasion Kevlar fibres, alongside more elaborate pieces in several types of 3M reflective material which only turn on when exposed to direct white light; incorporated within construction thread, cloth, print ink and embroidery threads.”

Matching Mondays May 16th

A while ago here at Wood be ran a blog series by the name of Matching Mondays. Every week, we would highlight a few pieces from different brands, carefully assembled to create a perfectly co-ordinated look for the week. Well, that very same blog series is now back, with an even more comprehensive and functional attitude for 2011!

This week is a reminder to us all (at least in Manchester) that the sunny weather cannot be trusted to stick around one bit. Springtime sees sunny, humid days interspersed with blustery, rain showers that can really ruin your day – and your threads!

We have taken all of this into consideration and have tried to present you with a look here that should see you right through these unpredictable days we are facing this May.

The Burning House

No idea’s original? I would have to disagree with that especially after coming across this particularly interesting new website The Burning House – in their own words…

“If your house was burning, what would you take with you? It’s a conflict between what’s practical, valuable and sentimental. What you would take reflects your interests, background and priorities. Think of it as an interview condensed into one question.”

The Barbour International Jacket above is definitely a good choice, although we are sold out! Have a look through the rest of our Barbour collection here and maybe you can pick something out and include it in your very own Burning House submission!
