We at Wood first discovered Stussy on a trip to New York City along time ago our love affair then started for a brand that continued to design and produce Stussy clothes and graphics that would hold Stussy clothing steady for the next 25 years, exclusive in England via the Gimme 5 crew.
That makes Stussy the ancestor of all streetwear brands today - say no more.
Stussy - From Shawn Stussy's modest beginnings scrawling his signature logo on T Shirts and surfboards, the brand would soon start to achieve recognition beyond it’s local California roots. With Stussy's success came the opportunity to travel and spread the Stussy vibe. Stussy hooked up with trendsetters in New York, London, Tokyo and other areas of the world. Stussy clothing was inspired by this international group of musicians, skaters, DJs and artists with similar tastes, which helped to shape the Stussy brand into an international streetwear label. Today, Stussy exists as a brand with worldwide respect and independence. With over sixty Stussy stores across the globe and a very strong tribe still in effect, Stussy is a leader in the culture which it helped start over 25 years ago.
